About Me:
Hello, I am a graduate student at University of Florida majoring in Transportation Engineering. I was born and brought up in Bihar and later on moved to Delhi for higher studies. Before coming to Gainesville, I lived in Mumbai where I completed my undergraduate in Civil Engineering. I have been associated with Gators for Asha since when I joined UF in Fall 2015. Apart from free food and research, what excites me in graduate life at UF are running, hiking, practicing mindfulness, playing guitar and learning Spanish.
RUNNING EXPERIENCE
Life is too short to miss out on the happy moments and in order to enjoy them fully we must remain healthy, active and have a strong sense of self-discipline. Running is a great exercise that provides immense benefits to my mind and body. I have been training with Team Asha since September 2015. I owe a lot to our coaches Dana and Rick and all the members of Team Asha who inspire me so much so that I eagerly wait for Saturday mornings to hit the trail. They spark a motivation in me to always go the extra mile. This would be my second 15k run and I am really excited about it.
MY REQUEST
I am fortunate to get good education at the best institutes in the world due to the support of my family. But, there are many kids who still dream of going to school. There are many under-privileged kids in India who are deprived of food, clothing, shelter, hygiene and education. I want to contribute for the cause by running the Gate River Run and raising funds which can be used for the welfare of these kids. As a part of the Asha community, I request you all to donate for this noble cause. No contributions are small and every penny counts.
