Master’s Student at UF
About me:
Hi friends, I’m Niveda, pursuing my Master’s in Material Science and Engineering at University of Florida. I graduated from SSN College of Engineering in May 2016 with a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering. I came across the organisation, Gators for Asha, when I reached UF and was more than happy to volunteer.
This is my second year working with this organisation and I am proud to be of some assistance to this group which creates a difference in numerous lives.
Running Experience:
I participated in GRR 2017. It was an all together new experience for me. The satisfaction I got when I first completed my 15k run was tremendous. It wasn’t very hard after all. I trained myself for three months prior to the run. It helped me keep fit and stress free. My training session for this run is going on well. Hopefully I will be able to beat my last year’s run time.
At times even though I am held back and don’t feel like practicing, the cause for which I’m running keeps me going.
My request:
There is always a little part of us which wants to help others. This is an opportunity for us to help the deserving young bright faces back in India. The society has given us so much, it’s time to return our part. Kindly donate whatever you can. Small contribution can create large impact. Gators for Asha and Asha for Education will make sure the donations are utilised to full extent solely to improve education for children in India.
