Software Engineer, Greenway Health
This is my 10th year of fundraising for the UF chapter of Asha for Education, an effort that I have always relished participating in. Thanks to Team Asha and the camaraderie it has provided over the past decade or so, life in Gainesville after graduating from the University of Florida has been enriching and fulfilling. This association coupled with volunteering at various India Cultural and Education Center (ICEC) events and attending meditation sessions organized by Art of Living chapter at UF, have made my 17 years in North-Central Florida quite eventful. Lately, I have taken up rock climbing.
My Running experience
Without Team Asha and its role models, coaches Rick Swenson and Dana Moser, there won’t have been so many Half-marathons and two Marathons under my belt. These races have not just been regional, but took me to destinations throughout the country esp. in Mid-west and far West including Glacier, Grand Teton, Rocky Mountain and Yosemite national parks. The past 8 instances of fundraising were associated with Gate River Run (GRR) in Jacksonville and very recently with 43rd Chicago Marathon last October. Running and other fitness activities make me fell optimistic, energetic and enthusiastic, all thanks to Gators for Asha.
On behalf of Asha UFlorida and its 3 steward-led educational projects in various parts of India, I request you to consider making tax-deductible contributions by clicking the DONATE link and make education possible for the underserved and underprivileged sections of the Indian society. Banking on the generous support from friends and community members like you, I look forward to raising at least $500 this spring. Let us join forces and work together towards a better future.
