About me:
I’m Mohanakrishnan, a graduate student with the University of Florida. Before pursuing my graduate studies, I worked with Wipro Technologies, Bangalore as a Project Engineer for nearly 3 years. Now, I am trying to do what I can to help my community become a better place.
Running Experience:
I have been into running for the most part of my life and I should say I am fortunate to be a part of the Gators for Asha family now. I started running with the Asha running team around February 2016 and have ever since been practicing and improving my run with them. With the team’s motivation, I have been able to achieve a number of long runs including the ‘Gate Riven Run 2016’ and even the ‘Marine Corps half marathon’ (I still can’t believe I completed a half marathon). I am practicing for the ‘Gate River Run 2017’ now and this time with a cause in mind, to help the education of underprivileged children in India.
My Request:
As I look back, I realize I would have been no one if it weren’t for the support of my family, friends and others who helped me to become the person I am today. I have grown to understand every small contribution that I have received has impacted me hugely and it’s time to give something back. I believe in working together to make a difference in the world. Asha for education is one of the biggest non-profit organizations in the USA, which supports providing education to underprivileged children in India.
Currently Asha’s University of Florida chapter (UFlorida/Gators for Asha) supports 5 projects across India. I request you to please consider donating to this great cause. Even the smallest donation you make would bring smiles to these under privileged kids.
